Supported OS List

1. Tiger 10.4.10 (with kernel 8.10.3 or higher)

2. Tiger 10.4.11 and higher

3. Leopard 10.5.2 and higher

Note: To find your OS and kernel version, use the menu at the top of the screen: Apple Icon > About This Mac > More Info >Software.

Getting started

1. Start your Mac and make sure you have an active Internet connection.

2. Plug your magicJack into your Mac.

Note: On Mac Mini, please do NOT use the USB port on the keyboard.
Your magicJack needs to be plugged into the port on your computer or into a powered USB hub.

3. Mac OS will recognize your magicJack device and mount its drives. Two drive icons will appear on your desktop.

4. Depending on the OS version and settings, a window may open with the instructions to run magicJack by clicking the magicJack icon. If it does not open, please double-click the mounted “magicJack” drive.

5. In the displayed window, double-click the large magicJack icon.

Note: Do not unplug your magicJack without dismounting its drives first. To dismount the drives, select the icons of the drives on your desktop and drag them into the Trash Can on the bottom right corner.

Troubleshooting

On Leopard, magicJack and/or other programs hang when I attempt to dismount the drives

Please unplug the magicJack. If this does not help, please reboot your computer.

magicJack is not visible in the system (the drives do not mount)

Please check if the OS version is supported. If it does, please check that the magicJack is not plugged into a keyboard port or passive hub.

magicJack starts, but no audio is available

Please unplug your magicJack and plug it back in after a few seconds.

magicJack restarts by itself

Please check the USB port that the magicJack is plugged into. If it is a keyboard port or a passive port (not a powered hub), then unplug your magicJack and plug it back into a USB port on the computer or into a powered USB hub.

magicJack does not start after the computer is rebooted

Please unplug your magicJack and plug it back in after a few seconds.

My computer does not see the device upon returning from sleep

Please unplug your magicJack and plug it back in after a few seconds.
